The Royal Palace

Oslo
Built in the early 19th century, The Royal Palace is the official residence of King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway. It is also the daily workplace of the Royal Court and serves as a venue for many official functions, such as gala dinners and visits from foreign heads of state.

Oslo Opera House

Oslo
The Oslo Opera House (Operahuset) is the home of the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet, but it’s probably better known for what’s on the outside than what’s happening inside. With its mirrored facades, white marble walls and angular architecture, this award-winning building has been likened to giant iceberg, and its cutting-edge interiors and acoustics are just as impressive.

Flåm Railway

Flam
Flåm Railway (Flamsbana), “the little green train”, is one you will surely remember. From the Myrdal mountain station -- where passengers connect from the Oslo-Bergen train line -- to the charming village of Flåm, this train travels over 20 kilometres (12 miles) through 20 tunnels and down a steep and twisting 865-metre (2,837-foot) descent into the spectacular Flåm Valley.

Aurlandsfjord

Fjord
The Aurlandsfjord is a 17-kilometre arm of the world’s second longest fjord, the Sognefjord, starting at the village of Flåm and ending at Mount Beitelen, where the scenic Nærøyfjord arm takes over.

Sognefjord

Fjord
Sognefjord is the longest and deepest fjord in Norway. At its deepest, the fjord is about 1,300 meters (4,265 ft.) below sea level and extends over 200 kilometres (124 miles) inland to the national parks of Jotunheimen and Jostedalsbreen. The sheer mountainsides framing the fjord reach heights of over 1,000 meters (3,280 ft), and the average width of this majestic fjord is roughly 4.5 km (2.8 miles).

Rosenkrantz Tower

Bergen
Rosenkrantz Tower was built in the 1560‘s and it considered one of the most important renaissance monuments remaining in Norway. At the time it was built it served as a residence and fortified tower.

The Northern Lights

Tromso
A natural phenomenon that occurs when solar activity releases a cloud of gas that is drawn into the earth’s magnetic fields, creating charged particles that collide with oxygen and nitrogen atoms in the upper atmosphere.
