Every year millions of worshippers go for Amarnath Yatra, a ritual that remains open for two months every year. Many undertake the yatra to attain salvation. The ease of booking these tickets for Amarnath Yatra Registration 2023 has become available through the department. So you can plan your journey alone or with close ones to the Amarnath Cave. Now criteria are also given for booking tickets online.

For two consecutive years, the Amarnath Yatra was suspended owing to covid. This year the Board has taken the responsibility to take care of pilgrims and has shared strict guidelines.

Individuals can register for the Yatra in Two ways-Offline and Online. The registration date commences on 17th April for both offline and online modes. The pilgrims can register themselves on the official website of the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine board or the approved registration center.

How to register Amarnath Yatra Offline 2023

For offline registration, you can approach any of the designated 446 branches of the Punjab National Bank, the Jammu and Kashmir Bank, and Yes Bank. The offline registration fee per individual costs 120 rupees.

As the pilgrims throng in large numbers to book tickets, preference is given on a first come first served basis. This year an Aadhar-based registration of pilgrims will be done where the thumb impression of the pilgrim is scanned.

Each branch issues a fixed number of permits daily and per route, Amarnath yatra permit or license is valid only for one individual. Anyone between the age group of 13 years and  75 years can sign up for the Yatra. However, women with a pregnancy of six weeks or more are not permitted to sign up for the yatra. A daily total of  15000 pilgrims is permitted access to the yatra on both routes namely Baltal and Pahalgam.

To receive a Yatra permit you must fill out the application forms available at the registration branches with all the necessary information. Along with the application form you also obtain a Compulsory Health Certificate format (CHC). The CHC form records your age, identification mark, and medical history if any. Also, details like information on previous surgeries, names of prescribed medications, and information about any allergies are saved.Only an authorized medical institute or Doctor can examine you and verify your medical history. Then they will  sign the CHC form to confirm  you are fit to undertake the journey to the Shri Amarnathji Holy Cave Shrine

Once you have filled out the form and obtained the fitness certificate, you have to submit them including the receipt of the fee deposited in the bank to the Registration Officer at the registration center. Also, you have to submit 4 passport-size photographs, three for a Yatraatra permit and one for an application form.

After the verification process is over the registration official shall issue a duly signed system-generated YPFs for a route along with the bank branch’s seal. Depending on the day and route you will get yatra permits of different colors. For example last year on Monday the color of the yatra permit for the Pahalgam route was Lavender and the color of the yatra permit for the Baltal route was Lemon Chiffon. This color coding differs every day for both routes.

The date of your yatra is printed on your Yatra Permit and you are allowed to access the control gates on that day only and from a specified route namely Baltal and Pahalgam.

How to register for the Amarnath Yatra online in 2023?

Amarnath Yatra’s online registration date begins on April 17, 2023. Through the official website of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, people can register for the Amarnath Yatra online in 2023. Amarnath Yatra online registration is an easy process and needs the following things for a successful registration:

Fill out the registration details that include scanning papers like your pictures and mandatory health certificates. Then upload the documents. Verify the mobile number using OTP received. After the application procedure, a confirmation message will be delivered on mobile. Pay application costs online using a credit card, debit card, or net banking. Once registration is complete, download the Yatra Permit. For online registration, the fees would be 220 rupees per pilgrim. For NRIs, the fees may be around 1540 rupees per pilgrim.

The 62-day-long yatra will commence on July 1, 2023, and will culminate on August 31. Helicopter booking for the Amarnathji yatra commences in the last week of May. The Yatra website will provide detailed guidelines for everything related to Yatra including Health Advisory and Dos and Don’t Yatra 2023.
